Bill and Tiana embarked on a journey to revitalize their home in Rural Poynette, Wisconsin. Originally built by Bill’s dad, the custom 2-story residence was nestled in lush greenery but harboured dated features like oak cabinetry, laminate countertops, and a perplexing ceiling fan in the kitchen. The living room and bathrooms showcased more ’90s oak, prompting the homeowners to undertake a mission to bring their dwelling into the 2020s while seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings..

Creating the Perfect Modern Farmhouse Kitchen

The outdated kitchen, once considered spacious and modern, demanded a significant overhaul. The plastic laminate countertops and orange oak cabinets were replaced to introduce a brighter Modern Farmhouse aesthetic. The layout was reimagined, with the removal of the peninsula making way for a central island, enhancing flow and providing additional storage. Sherwin Williams Alabaster paint transformed the existing cabinets, creating a cohesive backdrop for the Modern Farmhouse vibe. A butcher block countertop on the island and Blanco Matrix Quartz on the perimeter cabinets added both functionality and elegance. The finishing touch included a large farmhouse sink, tying in perfectly with the new interior

The Living Room and a New Study

Moving on to the living room, the built-in bookshelves underwent a color transformation, unifying the space with the kitchen’s Evergreen Fog accents. Frosted glass doors added a modern touch. The large front room was reimagined into a new study with custom-built shelves and a desk, seamlessly integrating with the Modern Farmhouse interior. Refinished hardwood floors adorned the entire first floor, providing a timeless finish.

Remodelling the Upstairs Bathrooms

Upstairs, the focus shifted to updating the kids’ and master bathrooms. The master bathroom, once dark and cramped, received a dual-sink vanity, half-vessel sinks, and a stylish bank of drawers for added storage. The tub module made way for a tiled walk-in shower, embracing modern design sensibilities. Sliding frosted glass doors replaced dated linen closet doors, creating a cohesive look with the master closet. Armstrong Alterna Vinyl tile flooring offered a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution
